El aprendizaje y la comprensión de los objetos matemáticos desde una perspectiva ontológica

Abstract: This article contains a theoretical research study that interprets the learning and understanding of the mathematical objects from an ontological position with respect to its nature. The nature of mathematical objects is associated with their functional origin, and the aspects of representation and meaning that configured the mathematical object are constituted from this functionality. The  representation allows the expression and use of the object. The meaning attends to the interpretation of the object. The set of interpretations that may be associated with an object by the functionality that it represents configures its meaning. The learning of a mathematical object serves the representational aspect that sets him, and to the development of a meaning staff on it, from the experiences of the individual with the object. Finally, understanding of the mathematical objects is recognition of organizational or interpretative functionality of the context that represents the object, and the development of the ability to use this functionality.

Construcciones mentales para el aprendizaje del concepto de probabilidad: un estudio de caso

Resumen:El propósito de la investigación que se reporta en este artículo es indagar mediante la teoría apoe (Acciones, Procesos, Objetos y Esquemas) en la construcciones mentales que estudiantes universitarios de primer año —dispuestos en un estudio de caso— muestran en la construcción del concepto de probabilidad. La estructura general del estudio se fundamenta en el ciclo metodológico que nos proporciona la misma teoría apoe, diseñando una descomposición genética a partir de un estudio histórico-epistemológico del concepto, la cual se pone a prueba a través de un cuestionario aplicado al caso. Los resultados
obtenidos indican que algunos de los estudiantes que han respondido al cuestionario, alcanzan la construcción objeto del concepto de probabilidad, lo que evidencia la validez de la descomposición genética propuesta como modelo de
construcción del concepto en cuestión.

Mental constructions for learning probability concept: A case study

Abstract:The purpose of the research in to investigate, using apos (Actions, Processes, Objects and Schemes) theory, mental constructions of college freshman students—proposed as a case study-show on the construction of the concept of probability. The overall structure of the study is based on the methodological cycle provide by same theory apos, designing a genetic decomposition from a historical-epistemological of the concept, study which is tested through a questionnaire applied to the case. The results indicate that some of the students, who responded to the questionnaire, reach to the construction of the concept of probability, which proves the validity of the genetic decomposition construction proposed as a model of the concept in question.
